Present Perfect Simple: form

Εξήγηση: Χρησιμοποιούμε have/has + past participle για εμπειρίες και κατορθώματα που συνδέονται με το παρόν.

  • I have won a medal.
  • She has broken a record.
  • They have seen a theatre show.

Have you ever…?

Εξήγηση: Με ever ρωτάμε αν κάποιος έχει κάνει κάτι ποτέ στη ζωή του.

  • Have you ever swum in a river?
  • Has he ever taken part in a contest?
  • Have they ever met a champion?

Short answers

Εξήγηση: Στις μικρές απαντήσεις χρησιμοποιούμε μόνο have/has ή haven’t/hasn’t.

  • Yes, I have.
  • No, I haven’t.
  • Yes, she has.
  • No, he hasn’t.

Present Perfect vs Past Simple

Εξήγηση: Present Perfect για γενική εμπειρία. Past Simple όταν λέμε πότε έγινε κάτι.

  • I have seen a musical.
  • I saw Phantom of the Opera last year.
  • He has won five medals.
  • He won two medals in Athens in 2004.

Already / yet / never

Εξήγηση: already για κάτι που έχει γίνει, yet σε ερωτήσεις/αρνήσεις, never για κάτι που δεν έχει γίνει ποτέ.

  • I have already finished my poster.
  • Have you finished yet?
  • I have never broken a record.

Present Perfect Continuous

Εξήγηση: Χρησιμοποιούμε have/has been + -ing για δραστηριότητα που άρχισε στο παρελθόν και συνεχίζεται ή έχει αποτέλεσμα τώρα.

  • I have been training all morning.
  • She has been cooking since early in the morning.
  • They have been practising for two hours.

For and since

Εξήγηση: For δείχνει διάρκεια. Since δείχνει πότε άρχισε κάτι.

  • I have trained for three years.
  • I have trained since 2021.
  • He has been skateboarding since he was nine.

Experiences and achievements

Εξήγηση: Για κατορθώματα χρησιμοποιούμε Present Perfect με ρήματα όπως win, break, achieve, take part in.

  • She has achieved a personal best.
  • He has taken part in many contests.
  • They have broken the school record.

Writing a report

Εξήγηση: Ένα report για champion χρειάζεται όνομα, άθλημα/δραστηριότητα, κατορθώματα, χρόνο και προσωπική γνώμη.

  • Ian Thorpe has won five Olympic gold medals.
  • He has broken many world records.
  • In my opinion, he is an inspiring athlete.

Talking about personal records

Εξήγηση: Μιλάμε για personal bests με Present Perfect και λεπτομέρειες με Past Simple.

  • I have run 1 kilometre without stopping.
  • I did it last month.
  • I have improved my time this year.
