Simple Present Passive

Εξήγηση: Χρησιμοποιούμε am/is/are + past participle όταν μας ενδιαφέρει περισσότερο η πράξη και όχι ποιος την κάνει.

  • The book is written by Ian Fleming.
  • James Bond is presented as a teenager.
  • The posters are shown at the festival.

Passive with by

Εξήγηση: Αν θέλουμε να πούμε ποιος κάνει την πράξη, βάζουμε by.

  • The film is directed by a famous director.
  • The character is played by Daniel Craig.
  • The story is written by a young author.

Active vs Passive

Εξήγηση: Active: ξεκινάμε από αυτόν που κάνει την πράξη. Passive: ξεκινάμε από αυτό που δέχεται την πράξη.

  • Ian Fleming wrote James Bond.
  • James Bond is written by Ian Fleming.
  • Many people watch Bond films.
  • Bond films are watched by many people.

Suggestions: Let’s / How about

Εξήγηση: Για προτάσεις χρησιμοποιούμε εκφράσεις όπως Let’s, How about, Why don’t we.

  • Let’s go to the cinema.
  • How about watching an adventure film?
  • Why don’t we read a film review first?

Responding to suggestions

Εξήγηση: Απαντάμε σε προτάσεις θετικά, αρνητικά ή με εναλλακτική.

  • That sounds great.
  • Good idea!
  • I’d rather watch a comedy.
  • Maybe another time.

-ing adjectives

Εξήγηση: Τα -ing adjectives περιγράφουν το πράγμα/πρόσωπο που προκαλεί το συναίσθημα.

  • The film is exciting.
  • The story is interesting.
  • The ending is surprising.

-ed adjectives

Εξήγηση: Τα -ed adjectives περιγράφουν πώς νιώθει κάποιος.

  • I am excited.
  • She is interested in spy films.
  • They were surprised by the ending.

Preferences

Εξήγηση: Για προτιμήσεις χρησιμοποιούμε prefer, would rather, like better.

  • I prefer comedies to horror films.
  • I’d rather watch a spy film.
  • I like adventure films better than dramas.

Writing a film review

Εξήγηση: Μια κριτική ταινίας έχει title, genre, plot, characters, opinion και recommendation.

  • The film is an adventure story.
  • The main character is brave and clever.
  • I recommend it because it is exciting.

Signs and notices

Εξήγηση: Τα signs/notices δίνουν σύντομες πληροφορίες ή κανόνες.

  • Tickets are sold at the entrance.
  • Food is not allowed in the cinema.
  • The film is shown at 7 p.m.
