Revision: question words

English: Use question words to ask for travel information: where for place, when for time, how much for price, how many for number and why for reason.

Present Simple revision

English: Use Present Simple for habits, routines and general facts.

  • The museum opens at nine o’clock.

Present Continuous revision

English: Use Present Continuous for actions happening now and for fixed near-future arrangements.

Ελληνικά: Χρησιμοποιούμε Present Continuous για κάτι που γίνεται τώρα ή για κοντινές κανονισμένες δραστηριότητες.

  • I am waiting at the gate now.

Past Simple revision

English: Use Past Simple for finished actions at a clear time in the past.

Ελληνικά: Χρησιμοποιούμε Past Simple για πράξεις που τελείωσαν σε συγκεκριμένο χρόνο στο παρελθόν.

  • I visited Crete last year.
  • We saw an ancient temple yesterday.
  • They bought souvenirs on Monday.

Present Perfect revision

English: Use Present Perfect for experiences up to now when the exact time is not important.

Ελληνικά: Χρησιμοποιούμε Present Perfect για εμπειρίες μέχρι τώρα όταν δεν λέμε ακριβώς πότε έγινε κάτι.

  • I have visited three islands.
  • She has never been to Santorini.
  • Have you ever travelled by plane?

going to for plans

English: Use am/is/are going to + base verb for summer plans and intentions.

Ελληνικά: Χρησιμοποιούμε am/is/are going to + απλό ρήμα για καλοκαιρινά σχέδια και προθέσεις.

  • He is going to buy a map.

Opinions and suggestions

English: Use I think, In my opinion, Let’s and Why don’t we…? when planning a trip.

Ελληνικά: Για γνώμη και προτάσεις σε ταξίδι χρησιμοποιούμε I think, In my opinion, Let’s και Why don’t we…?

  • I think Naxos is beautiful.

Polite requests

English: Use Can I…? / Could you…? / I would like… for polite travel situations.

Ελληνικά: Για ευγενικές ερωτήσεις χρησιμοποιούμε Can I…?, Could you…? και I would like…

Travel questions with can/could

English: Use Can I…? and Could you…? to ask politely at the airport.

Tense revision signal words

English: Signal words help you choose the tense.

Writing a myth or travel leaflet

English: Use paragraphs: place, people, problem, action, ending or travel details.
