Past Simple & Past Continuous

Χρησιμοποιούμε τον Past Simple και τον Past Continuous για να μιλήσουμε για το παρελθόν.

Past Simple

  • πράξεις που έγιναν και τελείωσαν
  • γεγονότα σε συγκεκριμένο χρόνο

Form: Subject + verb (-ed / 2nd form)

Example: I played football yesterday.

Past Continuous

  • πράξεις που διαρκούσαν στο παρελθόν
  • πράξεις που διακόπηκαν

Form: Subject + was / were + verb-ing

Example: I was playing football.

Past Simple & Past Continuous together

Ο Past Continuous δείχνει τι γινόταν και ο Past Simple τι το διέκοψε.

Example:
I was sleeping when the phone rang.
